About Karakter

ASL is the publisher of the quarterly Dutch periodical 'Karakter ' a 'Scientific Journal'.

'Karakter' is a multidisciplinary journal on science and science culture. With this journal, ASL wants to contribute to the public dissemination of science and its critical reflection, both inside and outside KU Leuven. The journal addresses a broad and diverse audience.

Who we are

'Academische Stichting Leuven vzw' better known as ‘ASL’ is the continuation of 'Vlaamse Leergangen Leuven' who 100 years ago started lobbying for the installation of Flemish academic courses aside of the at that time uniquely French Université Catholic de Louvain.
